      <image:title>Blog - Big Mistake for Bigger Peppers!</image:title>
<image:caption>Big news on the farm! Due to an ordering mistake, we accidentally purchased a 6-plant tent from Spider Farmer instead of a 3-plant tent. Our grow room was already at max capacity, but we figured out a way to Tetris the tents together anyway. To maximize the space even further, we’re going to grow vertically using shelves to pack in even more pots! Speaking of pots, we’re replanting everything into fabric pots. Unlike plastic pots that cause plants to become root bound, fabric pots offer natural "air pruning" to keep the roots healthy while saving space. This setup also allows more oxygen into the soil, leading to happier plants and bigger peppers!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Big Mistake for Bigger Peppers!</image:title>
<image:caption>This is great news for our seedlings because it gives us enough room for nine more plants! The seeds have sprouted, and we have some exciting new varieties on the way Mild spice Dragon Roll Early Jalapeños for that classic taste Jalapeño Gigante for a fun variation The king of heat, Ghost Peppers! As for our current crops, we have more Serrano, Thai Hot, and Habanero coming along. The Joe’s Long Cayenne are doing great too, and will soon start producing those famous foot long peppers!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Bug Wars III: the Peppering</image:title>
<image:caption>The battle against Thrips and Spider Mites is officially turning in our favor. While we unfortunately had to say goodbye to one of our older Lunchbox Orange plants, removing its struggle was exactly what the rest of the tent needed. In the grow tent, our Poblanos are thriving in the extra space and putting on remarkable growth. The spider mite webs have completely cleared out. To keep it that way, we have deployed slow release predatory mites. Those are the little square paper sachets you will spot hanging in our update photos. Meanwhile, our trusty Minute Pirate Bugs have successfully wiped out the Thrips on the new Cayenne plants. The Habaneros also got a deployment of Pirate Bugs and are already showing new growth and recovery. We’re also running a recovery fertilizer routine across the tents to give the plants a well deserved nutrient boost and help them bounce back faster. On a frustrating note, our latest round of seeds completely failed to germinate. It looks like our current stock has simply gotten too old. To get things back on track, we are browsing the Burpee Seed Store this week to secure fresh seeds. We’re actively hunting for Ghost Peppers and Jalapenos to restock our inventory, but we’ll see what other unique varieties catch our eye while browsing their catalogue.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Bug Wars III: the Peppering</image:title>
<image:caption>While our overall harvest is moving a bit slowly right now, the plants are steadily churning out fruits. If you have ever wondered why dehydrated peppers are a labor of love, it comes down to the water weight. It takes an incredible volume of fresh, plump peppers to pack out our .25oz bags once the dehydrator sucks out all the moisture! Here’s what’s coming up next on the shelves! The Serranos are finally turning a deep, vibrant red. Keep a close eye on the stand, as we will have a few new bags dropping shortly. As for the Scotch Bonnets, the fruits are developing that beautiful, deep purple black "suntan". This natural pigmentation shift means they are loaded with sugar and well on their way to final maturity. It has been a bit of a rocky start to the season, but with the pests on the run and fresh seeds on the way, we are forecasting a massive recovery and another huge wave of peppers. Thanks for growing along with us!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Good, the Bad and the Spicy - The Bad.</image:title>
<image:caption>We have been dealing with a rough outbreak of thrips and spider mites lingering since last winter. While we previously thought we defeated them, they managed to stage a comeback and unfortunately killed a lot of our plants. For those who might not know, these pests will destroy the plant foliage itself, but they do not actually affect the safety or quality of the food grown. They are notoriously difficult to fight when you grow indoors because there are no natural predators inside your home to keep them in check. To turn the tide, we have ordered another round of beneficial insects from NaturesGoodGuys.com to combat the infestation naturally. Our new defense team includes: Beneficial Nematodes Orius insidiosus - Minute Pirate Bug Special Blend Predatory Mite Mix</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Good, the Bad and the Spicy - The Good.</image:title>
<image:caption>Despite the setbacks, plenty of our peppers are thriving right now. Ancho Poblano Chillies are looking huge, and we are just waiting patiently for them to turn a rich red color. Serrano plants have produced a massive harvest, and we are also just waiting on those to ripen fully to red. Joes Long Cayenne peppers are doing exceptionally well, and we’re going to start letting them grow buds now that the plants are big enough. We also faced a major unexpected test recently when our local grid suffered a five hour power outage. In an indoor grow setup, losing power for that long can quickly turn into a disaster for temperature control and lighting schedules. Thankfully, our backup solar battery kicked in immediately and kept absolutely everything running smoothly without a single hiccup. Our plants never even noticed the blackout, proving that our investment in reliable backup power was worth every single penny. Looking ahead, we will be drying some more habaneros and santaka/thai peppers soon. These remain our main crop because they’re always producing waves of peppers. Stay tuned for more updates as the red peppers start ripening and our new seeds sprout.</image:caption>

We are bringing back a timeless crowd favorite with our Old Fashion Jalapenos, which will be perfect for everyday cooking. Right next to them, we are preparing something special for the true thrill seekers. We have officially started our Ghost Pepper seeds. If you are looking to push your palate to the absolute limit, these are the ones to watch.
